Introduction

The linear vibrating screen is mainly composed of a lower basement, the shock absorbing spring, a vibrating box, the net frames with wire sieve, two vibrating motor and a dust cover. Different parts of the linear vibrating screen play different roles in the process of screening materials, but they are coordinated and completed together.

Linear vibration screen

The working principle of a linear vibration sieve is relatively straightforward and can be summarized in the following steps:

Material Feeding

The material to be screened is fed onto the screen surface from the top or one end of the linear vibrating screen. The material spreads across the screen surface in a thin and even layer.  A regulating valve is set in the feed inlet to distribute the material evenly to the entire screen surface, so that the screen can be fully utilized to achieve the best screening effect.

Vibration Generation

The vibration motor, mounted vertically at the center of the sieve, generates rapid and controlled vibrations. These vibrations are transmitted to the screen surface and the material placed on it.  In the selection of vibration motors, under normal circumstances, a vibration motor with a higher vibration force is selected as the power source, and the optimal vibration force of the two vibration motors is selected by adjusting the overlapping amount of eccentric blocks at both ends of the vibration motor, so as to meet production needs.

Particle Movement

As a result of the vibrations, the material particles start moving. The combination of horizontal and vertical vibrations propels the particles forward in a straight-line motion along the screen surface.

Sieving and Separation

The material particles encounter the openings (mesh or perforations) on the screen surface. Particles that are smaller than the openings (undersize) easily pass through and fall through the lower discharge outlet. On the other hand, particles larger than the openings (oversize) cannot pass through and are carried forward towards the discharge end.

Application

The versatility and efficiency of linear vibration sieves make them indispensable in various industries, including:

a. Mining and Quarrying: Linear vibrating screens are extensively used in the mining industry to separate minerals and coal based on their size.

b. Metallurgy: These sieves play a crucial role in the metallurgical industry, grading and sorting ores and metals.

c. Chemical and Pharmaceutical Industries: Linear vibration sieves are employed in chemical and pharmaceutical industries for grading and separating chemicals and powders.

d. Food Processing: Linear vibrating screens are used in food processing plants to remove impurities and foreign particles from food products.

FAQ

1. What are the applications of linear vibrating screens?

Linear vibrating screens are widely used in various industries such as mining, coal, metallurgy, building materials, refractory materials, light industry, chemical, and more. They are commonly used for screening and grading of bulk materials and are particularly useful for processing large quantities of materials.

2. How does a linear vibrating screen work?

The linear vibrating screen operates by vibrating the screen box, which is equipped with one or more vibrating motors. The vibrations cause the material to be thrown up and forward on the screen surface. As a result, the particles smaller than the screen mesh openings pass through the screen, while larger particles are retained and discharged as oversize.

3. What types of materials can be screened using a linear vibrating screen?

Linear vibrating screens can handle a wide range of materials, including bulk solids, granular materials, powders, and liquids. Common materials include ores, coal, minerals, sand, gravel, chemicals, and more.

4. Can linear vibrating screens be used for wet materials?

Yes, linear vibrating screens can be used for both dry and wet materials. For wet materials, the screen deck is often equipped with water sprays to aid in the screening process and prevent material build-up.

5. How to select the right linear vibrating screen for specific applications?

To choose the appropriate linear vibrating screen, consider factors such as the material type, particle size, desired capacity, moisture content, and the specific application requirements. Consulting with a reputable manufacturer or supplier can help in making the right selection.

6. Can linear vibrating screens be customized for specific needs?

Yes, many manufacturers offer customizations for linear vibrating screens to meet specific requirements. Customization options may include screen size, screen deck number, material of construction, and additional features such as dust covers or protective coatings.
